My Favorite Walt Clyde Frazier Lines
Walt Clyde Frazier is the color commentator for the New York Knicks local broadcasts, in case you didn't know. He was a former Knick in the 1970s and has been announcing Knick games on the radio and then on TV for years now. He's known for his arbitrary rhyming and unnecessary use of big words.
Here are some of my favorite all time Walt Clyde lines. I'm only going to include ones that pop directly into my head:
**best one ever** - "I like Ewing's doings. He's been a real juggernaut on the boards."
"Harper makes the pass and, ooohhh...Serendipity by John Starks"
"That one was vintage Marbury. No hocus pocus, only focus on that drive."
"Yeah, so apropos that Allen Iverson is here on Halloween with his bag of tricks and treats."
"The Knicks doing a lot of dishing but not much swishing here in the third."
Recently he's had some great ones dealing with Nate Robinson, the Knicks rookie guard who stands at a robust 5'9". Things like, "Great energy on that play from the Lilliputian."
If I remember the story correctly, Clyde was a really talented player who was accused of being a generaly stupid guy, in particular because his vocabulary was lacking. He made it a point then to improve his vocabulary to prove everyone wrong and show that he was an intelligent guy. Then he started to use big words in tangentially related context.

How about back in the Larry Johnson era of the Knicks when he would put his arm straight out and bend at the elbow 90 degrees making an "L" after making a play. On one particularly bad shooting night for Larry, wasn't it Frazier who said: "Larry needs to start working on his 'J', not his 'L'"
I had an news article from the NY Times on my bedroom wall for a long time about Walt Frazier and how ridiculous his sayings were and, usually, although the vocabulary was nice they are usually technically grammatically incorrect. However, as the color commentator, his job is to add color into the broadcast. Let Marv Albert / whoever is there now say things correctly, I say.
Marv/Walt goes down as the all-time best broadcast team. In recent years, Kevin Harlan has grown on me.
But I digress... here are some other Walt-isms I'd like to add from back in the day (many are paraphrased, of course):
"Ewing... spinning and winning!"
"Crawford... with gusto that time in the lane."
"Artest, tenacious and pugnacious on the D." (I liked this one so much that I subsequently convinced my mother to name her ferrets Tenacious and Pugnacious. They appropriately fit those adjectives.)
"The Knicks, cohesive on the defense."
"Whooaaa... yeah, Oakley, 6'9", 250 with the jumper that time." (He used to always throw in a player's height and weight at seemingly unnecessary times.)"
"Yeah, Kurt Thomas with the hustle and muscle in the lane."
"Starks drove the lane, with the good stuff." (after a dunk).

Amiable dispatch and this fill someone in on helped me alot in my college assignement. Thank you as your information.
Other good ones:
"Ewing omnipotent on offense, ubiquitious on defense, omnipresent in transition"
"Permeating, penetrating and creating... but in vain"
[after a self-putback by Muslim Knick Nazr Muhammed on the first day Ramadan ended]: "Nazr, no longer fasting, now feasting"
[After a Ewing basket eclipsed Frazier's record as Knicks' all-time scoring leader]: With that basket, I am eradicated from the record books.
He also loves using guy's name poetically, routinely referring to Kevin Duckworth "making duck soup of the defense and Terry Catledge (sp?) as "the catalyst"
